Hang Gliding

Tandem flights can be arranged as an introduction to Hang Gliding or just as a unique experience and require no special input from passengers. All such flights are carried out by suitably qualified and experienced pilots on a purpose built glider and all equipment is supplied. Due to the nature of "dualling" both locations and conditions are more critical than for normal flying therefore it must be realized and accepted that no fixed dates can be given as to when any particular flight may take place. Whilst every effort is made to carry out flights as soon as possible it can be several months (especially in the winter) before conditions permit. The only real limiting factor as far as passengers are concerned is that of weight and this must be disclosed prior to booking, sorry that goes for the ladies as well! Flights normally last for between fifteen and twenty minutes, conditions and passengers permitting and consist of soaring above the Cornish cliffs with the seagulls before hopefully landing back on top!

Costs involved are £119.00 for the flight and £10.00 for mandatory temporary membership of the British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association which provides legal liability insurance (third party). School liability insurance to passengers is limited to £25,000

All potential participants should be aware that Hang Gliding as with most adventure sports is potentially hazardous and in that knowledge accept the risk that personal injuries or damage could be suffered. The insurance provided by the B.H.P.A does not include personal accident insurance and if this is required this should be arranged separately.

Paragliding

Tandem Paragliding flights are carried out either using our towing system or by hill launching see details below.

Towed Launching involves towing the Paraglider  into the air to heights of around 500' before releasing the tow line then being free to fly around before returning to the launch point. Stunning views of the Cornish coast line are  to be had along with the chance of picking up some extra lift to extend the flight. With the large range of wind conditions that tow launching can accommodate flights take place on a  more frequent basis than Hill launched ones.  

Hill Launching takes place from a suitable site when the wind is blowing onto the hill and the Paraglider takes off into the "lift band" and soars along the hill climbing in altitude as it does. Typical flights last around 15 - 20 minutes before landing hopefully back "on top" with a big smile. Hill flights are more weather dependant than Towed flights and therefore take place less frequently than Tow launched ones.

All such flights are carried out by suitably qualified and experienced pilots on a purpose built glider and all equipment is supplied. Tandem paragliding is less weather sensitive than the Hang Gliding equivalent so flights can take place on a more regular basis.
